ANGKATAN Koperasi Kebangsaan Malaysia Bhd (Angkasa) with Asean Cooperative Organisation (ACO), Koperasi 1Malaysia Bhd and Parcel365 Sdn Bhd unveils Parcel365 to strengthen and improve the courier system and services.
Angkasa president Datuk Abdul Fattah Abdullah said they are targeting up to 1,000 locations next year.
“This is available as an option for the consumer who wants to use a variety of courier services with a better safety delivery net,” he told reporters during the launch yesterday.
Parcel365 is the first parcel locker in Malaysia that is running on a mobile app for all the services, which offer a comprehensive delivery system in the app.
It is built to ensure the safety of consumers’ couriers in the delivery system through Internet, especially in the area where delivery requires a tedious process such as the high rise building where parcels are being left at guardhouse or management office when the receiver is not at home.
“Through this app, consumers and the users can monitor their product and minimise damage as the app verifies user details based on the mobile number and it will need to be filled up by a receiver to obtain pin code for collection,” Abdul Fattah said.
Parcel365 reduces the issue where the parcel is passed to the wrong person at the place.
“As we move into digital connectivity, this is a new addition known as a smart local for the consumers so that they can perform their delivery in a digital ecosystem that is safe and secure,” he added.
Separately, Deputy Communication and Multimedia Minister Datuk Zahidi Zainul Abidin — who was also present during the product launch said the digital connectivity improvement strategy — the ministry is currently undertaking the effort to build a satellite system allowing more inclusive connectivity for connected areas.
He said the connectivity in rural areas, including in the blackspot areas will be reached in two years.
“As of now, we do have few companies which are ready to independently support the government to address Internet connectivity for the people in unserved and underserved areas through satellite,” Zahidi Zainul said.
He added that collaboration can provide a precise synergy in providing the best service to the people as the country moves into the digital economy.
