Parcel365 are the first smart parcel locker service provider in MALAYSIA that offers international shipping through apps and locker.
DHL Express recently expanded its Malaysian footprint with a new mobile ServicePoint and collaboration with Parcel365 to be its exclusive international shipping partner. The latest additions will boost the reach of its vast local network of 146 retail outlets and ServicePoints in helping businesses tap into the global marketplace.
The store on wheels is DHL Express’ first of its kind in the Asia Pacific (excluding China) region. Built into the company’s iconic yellow truck, the moving unit offers the same breadth and quality of services as its brick-and-mortar counterparts. Customers can walk in to send shipments to destinations in Malaysia as well as any of the 220 countries and territories that DHL serves. Supplies such as DHL branded boxes, envelopes, and other packing materials are also available. The mobile ServicePoint is currently at Jalan Solaris 1 in Mont Kiara and will remain there until the end of March before embarking on a citywide tour of the Klang Valley.
Updates on its next location can be found on DHL Express Malaysia’s social media pages, DHL locator on dhl.com, and notices at the mobile ServicePoint.
“At DHL Express, we bring our customers’ businesses anywhere and everywhere in the world,” said Julian Neo, Managing Director of DHL Express Malaysia and Brunei. “With these moves, we are now bringing our unparalleled network and deep logistics expertise closer to them. This is part of our overall retail strategy to improve convenience and accessibility for the communities we serve.”
Powered by solar panels on the roof, the mobile Service Point represents another step in DHL Express’ increasing shift towards renewable energy sources. In line with Deutsche Post DHL Group’s commitment to achieving zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2050. DHL Express Malaysia has intensified efforts to reduce its carbon footprint and drive clean operations, including introducing electric vehicles to its delivery fleet this March.
The partnership with Parcel365 meanwhile leverages on innovative storage technology to equip customers with the ease and safety of contactless drop-off and self-collection. Parcel365’s smart lockers not only allow customers to retrieve their documents and parcels anytime throughout the day but now also dispatch overseas bound shipments via DHL Express. Parcel365 presently hosts 74 such lockers located at high-rise residences and offices across Kuala Lumpur, Selangor, Penang, Johor, and Sabah, with plans to further grow the number to 300 by the first half of 2022.
The announcement comes as the Department of Statistics Malaysia reported a more than 36 percent increase in e-commerce transactions in the second quarter of 2021 compared to the previous year. According to J.P. Morgan, cross-border spending accounts for 44 percent of all digital sales in the country with Malaysians responsible for 52 percent of them.
DHL Express’ retail outlets and ServicePoints assist businesses in connecting the dots between their products and today’s e-commerce landscape. These locations enable quick and easy sending and pick up of shipments worldwide, empowering individual sellers and small to midsized enterprises with the same international logistics capabilities as large corporations.
